Our tips for avoiding fraud

Internet ad sites are often the target of attempted scams

Despite all the care that Wortimmo takes in checking the advertisements that are put online on our platform, some may nevertheless escape our vigilance.

How to limit the risks of being a victim of a scam?

To limit the risks of being a victim of a scam, it is important to integrate some reflexes.

Here is a non-exhaustive list of elements that should attract your attention and make you suspicious :

  • Beware of prices that are too attractive compared to other equivalent properties

  • The contact person can only be reached by e-mail

  • The owner cannot meet you because he is absent, too busy to meet you, travelling abroad, etc.
  • You are asked to reserve the property by redirecting you to another site

  • You are asked for personal documents before a visit and/or unusual proofs.

  • You are asked to pay a deposit / a sum of money to "reserve" an accommodation (for example, by transfer or via an external platform whose owner would have sent you the link by email). In this case, do not pay anything, otherwise you will not get your money back or the "reserved" accommodation.

You think you are dealing with one of these ads on Wortimmo.lu ?

  • You can report the ad directly on our site.

  • A " report " button is available below the contact of this ad

What to do if, despite your vigilance, you think you have been the victim of a scam ?

  • Immediately report the case to the police, directly to the police station or via https://police.public.lu/fr/prevention/arnaques/fausses-ventes.html as well as to the Wortimmo team, by email at [email protected]

The Wortimmo team wishes you a good property search and remains at your disposal.
